The goal of the Forum is to expand islanders’ understanding of issues related to climate, sustainability, and energy. We explore how these issues impact our lives – and what actions we can take to address these issues.
How Does It Work?
A coalition of Bainbridge Island groups hosts presentations that feature compelling speakers on issues related to climate, sustainability, and energy. We ask the speakers to present for 20-30 minutes and reserve the rest for questions and discussion.
Past presenters have included energy experts from the Seattle Sightline Institute discussing their work in the Pacific Northwest; officials from cities that have become carbon neutral using local solar, wind and biomass resources; and experts from the Stockholm Environment Institute discussing the pros and cons of carbon offsets.
Who Are the Hosts?
The local groups hosting include: Climate Action Bainbridge, EcoAdapt, Island Power, Sustainable Bainbridge, and Citizens Climate Lobby.
